# aget
Get the element at index `$idx` from a mutable array or vector. Zero-based and
O(1); literal `[aget ...]` calls compile to a dedicated opcode. Out-of-range
indices, negative indices, and non-indexable targets all return nil.
## Syntax
[aget $coll $idx]
## Parameters
- `$coll` — Array (from `array`/`array-of`) or vector.
- `$idx` — Zero-based index (number).
## Examples
[aget [array 10 20 30] 1] # → 20 [aget @{10 20 30} 1] # → 20 [aget [array 10 20 30] 9] # → nil
## Returns
The element at `$idx`, or nil when out of range, negative, non-numeric, or when
`$coll` is not an array/vector. Strings and maps are not indexable with `aget` —
use `nth` / `get`.
