# audio/available?
True when the host was compiled with SDL3 audio (`retro`, `hydra`); always false on the ANSI host (`retra`), where the namespace compiles without libSDL3 and every other `audio/*` call returns a clean `%Err`.
## Syntax
[audio/available?]
## Examples
[audio/available?] # → true on retro/hydra, false on retra if [audio/available?] { [audio/beep 880 0.05] }
## Returns
bool — a compile-time constant per host. The standalone `deft` CLI does not ship the TUI plugin registry, so `audio/*` symbols are undefined there; call these verbs from a TUI app.
