# bytes/slice Sub-range by BYTE indices `[start, end)` — the raw counterpart of codepoint-based `slice`. For binary data (fs/read bodies, crypto, blobs) whose chunk boundaries must not be re-aligned by accidental UTF-8 runs. Negative indices count from the end; nil start/end mean 0/length. ## Syntax
[bytes/slice $s $start $end]
## Examples
set bin [unwrap [fs/read "image.png"]]
set chunk [bytes/slice $bin 0 4096] # exact first 4096 bytes
## Returns String (raw bytes). ## See Also `bytes/len`, `byte-at`, `slice`
