# dbus/send Fire-and-forget method call: sends the message and drops the reply. ## Syntax
[dbus/send $conn $dest $path $iface $method ?$sig @args]
## Parameters - `$conn` — connection from `dbus/connect` - `$dest`, `$path`, `$iface`, `$method` — strings as in `dbus/call` - `$sig` — optional signature (same inference rules as `dbus/call`) - `@args` — method arguments The serial is still tracked internally so the eventual reply is discarded cleanly instead of being misrouted to a later call. ## Examples
[dbus/send $conn "org.freedesktop.Notifications" "/org/freedesktop/Notifications" "org.freedesktop.Notifications" "CloseNotification" 1]
## Returns `nil`, or `%Err{:message}` on a closed connection, a non-string destination/path/interface/member, or an unresolvable signature. ## See Also `dbus/call`, `dbus/emit`
