# debug/serve Start a TCP debug server for interactive programming. External processes (shell, editor, VS Code) connect to eval code, list definitions, inspect variables, and more. Protocol is JSON-RPC 2.0 over newline-delimited TCP. ## Syntax

[debug/serve :name port]

## Parameters - `:name` — keyword identifying the server (e.g. `:my-app`) - `port` — TCP port number to listen on (localhost only) ## Examples

[debug/serve :my-app 4711]
[debug/serve :editor 8321]

## Returns A native-resource handle (anchored in VM globals so GC never collects it). Pass it to `debug/stop` to shut the server down. ## See Also `debug/stop`, `debug/list`
