# draw/text-fit Put text truncated or space-padded to exactly `width` cells at (col, row). Unlike `[draw/text]` with a Deft-built padded string, the padding happens in the cell grid — no string allocation per row/cell per frame. ## Syntax

Use an empty string to fill a whole row with the background:
