# image/free Release an `Image` or `PixelBuffer` immediately. GC will also handle this when the value goes out of scope, but explicit free is useful for short-lived large images and video frames. Idempotent — a second call is a no-op. ## Syntax

## Parameters - `$v` — an `Image` or `PixelBuffer` native resource ## Examples

set buf [image/load "tmp.png"]
# ... use $buf ...
[image/free $buf]

set img [image/open "tmp.png"]
[image/free $img]
