# theme/current The ACTIVE workspace theme as the full map. Identical to `[tui/theme]` and `[draw/theme ctx]` in TUI hosts. ## Syntax

## Returns The complete parsed map of the currently applied theme — every key from the theme file (ui, syntax, help, markdown, custom sections) plus per-package `theme.dft` defaults merged under their app key (e.g. `:chat`). Top-level convenience flats (`:bg`, `:fg`, `:accent`, `:border`, …) carry the normalized core colors. `nil` when no host theme is applied (the standalone `deft` binary) — fall back to `[theme/load]` plus your own defaults there. ## Notes - Per-call parse; cache the result and re-read on theme change (stdext `theme/on-change` wraps the dirty-check pattern). - `[theme/save [theme/current]]` writes back in place — the hosts' startup scan registers provenance for every loaded theme. - Pairs with `[tui/set-theme]` / `[tui/theme-reload]` for an edit → save → reload loop.
