# tui/badge
Get or set a panel's workspace badge level — the colored dot in the
`[● name]` badge shown when a panel is minimized (on group title bars and
the bottom workspace taskbar).
Levels are log-style severities. The dot is green (`:none`) by default;
`:debug`, `:info`, `:warn`, and `:error` tint it with the active theme's
`:log` colors. A collapsed group shows the highest level anywhere in its
subtree.
## Syntax
[tui/badge] # current level of the calling panel [tui/badge :error] # set the calling panel's level [tui/badge :none] # clear the notification (back to green) [tui/badge "editor" :warn] # target a panel by tag or ID
With no level argument the current level keyword is returned. Accepted
aliases: `:warning`/`:warn`, `:err`/`:error`/`:fatal`, `:trace`/`:debug`,
`:clear`/`:off`/`:ok`/`:success`/`:none` (all map to `:none`).
## Examples
# In a log/error app: surface the worst severity in the badge def sync-badge {|| if [has-errors?] { [tui/badge :error] } else { [tui/badge :none] } }
## Returns
`bool` when setting, the current level keyword when reading. `false` when
the target panel cannot be resolved or is not a leaf panel.
