# without-meta
Return a copy of the value with its metadata stripped, sharing the same payload.
Values that carry no metadata (or whose kind cannot carry any) are returned
unchanged. Useful for display or serialization when side-channel metadata should
not be shown.
## Syntax
[without-meta $value]
## Parameters
- `$value` — Any value; metadata-capable kinds are map, tagged map, vector, set,
string, and keyword.
## Examples
def v [with-meta :deepseek %{doc "x"}] [meta $v] # → %{:doc "x"} [meta [without-meta $v]] # → nil [without-meta 42] # → 42
## Returns
The value with no attached metadata; kind and payload are preserved, and a value
without metadata is returned as-is.
