# puts Write a value to a channel (defaults to `:stdout`), followed by a newline. ## Syntax
[puts $value]
[puts $target $value]
## Parameters - `$target` — (optional) A `%Chan` handle from `open`, or one of the standard stream keywords `:stdin` / `:stdout` / `:stderr`; defaults to `:stdout`. - `$value` — Value to write. Strings are written raw; other values are formatted the same way `echo` formats them. ## Examples
[puts "hello"] # stdout
[puts :stderr "boom"] # stderr — no fd numbers anywhere

set chan [open "/tmp/log.txt" "a"]
[puts $chan "appended entry"]
[close $chan]
## Returns nil. ## See Also `gets`, `open`, `close`, `echo`, `println`
