# tui/eval
Eval source text in a target panel's runtime.
The target and (optional) source can be specified as numeric panel IDs or string
tags (resolved via `tui/find-panel`). If a source panel is given, the result is sent
back as an `:eval_result` event to that panel.
## Syntax

## Parameters
- `panel-id-or-tag` — target panel (numeric ID or string tag)
- `source` — source text to evaluate
- `source-panel-or-tag` — (optional) panel to receive the `:eval_result` event
## Returns
bool
## Example
# Eval in panel by numeric ID [tui/eval 2 "(+ 1 2)"] # Eval in panel by tag [tui/eval "shell" "(println *features*) "] # Eval with source callback (result sent back) [tui/eval "editor" "(current-line)" [tui/self]]
