# tui/dock/float Detach the dock from its anchor edge into a workspace-level floating frame — draggable by its title bar, resizable from its bottom/right edges. Re-attach with `tui/dock/anchor`. ## Syntax
[tui/dock/float]
[tui/dock/float %{ :x :y :w :h }]
## Parameters - `%{ :x :y :w :h }` — optional outer rect in workspace cells. When omitted, the frame keeps the docked content size near the old anchor. The rect is used only when `:w` and `:h` are positive; it is clamped to the screen. ## Examples
[tui/dock/float]
[tui/dock/float %{ :x 4 :y 3 :w 36 :h 14 }]
## Returns bool — true when the request was queued; false under the same workspace/panel guards as `tui/dock/open`. The main loop no-ops when no dock is open. While floating, the panel's app content expands back over the vacated anchor region. ## See Also `tui/dock/anchor`, `tui/dock/open`, `tui/dock/state`
